These identifications were confirmed by the National Herbarium of Cameroon. Voucher specimens are kept at the herbarium of the Department of Plant Biology of the University of Douala. Of the 121 people interviewed, it appeared that 77.5% of respondents agreed to consume wild edible plants and mushrooms.

Specimens of recorded plants were collected and processed for future identification at the National Herbarium of Cameroon. Their nutritional potentials are discussed based on available literature.
