Where does shea butter come from?
Shea nuts are harvested from wild Shea trees across the sub-Sahelian savannah from West Africa to Uganda in the east. Shea butter is mostly Oleic and Stearic plant oils which come from the kernel of the Shea tree nut which are collected from wild trees across the sub-Sahelian savannah. The Oleic oils are soft and easily absorbed by the skin.
What is shea butter used for?
Shea butter is widely used to moisturise and protect natural African hair from breakage. It can be applied to the scalp and to seal in moisture in dry hair. It also makes it easier to comb.
