About RIMCO. RIMCO (Resources Improvement and Manufacturing Company Limited) was incorporated in 1985. The Company started oil refining in 1988 in its 50mt capacity refinery. In 1990, it did a backward integration and started the 100mt per day palm kernel crushing mill to produce the crude palm kernel oil for the refinery.
Palm oil and palm kernel oils are produced in Nigeria from three production systems: natural/semi natural groves, smallholders, and small/medium sized estates and large estates. The groves are characterized by varied planting population from between 10–40 palms per hectare and 120–200 palms per hectare ( Omoti, 2009 ).

This is a large scale palm kernel oil processing project set up in Nigeria. The production capacity is 120 tons per day. It is a complete plant including Seed Cleaner, GOYUM 27 – Screw Oil Press, Material Handling Equipment, Screening Tank, Oil Filter Press Machines and Control Panel. Palm Oil and Palm Kernel Oil Refining and Fractionation Technology
Crude, degummed bleached, or fully refined palm kernel oils can be processed with this technology (Calliauw et al., 2005) (Table 12-M). The saturated fatty acid content is increased from 80% in the palm kernel oil to 93–96% in the palm kernel stearins; the lauric and myristic fatty acid contents go up to 80%.
