Soybean Processing and Utilization - Lusas - 2004 - ACSESS
This chapter describes current practices in soybean processing and utilization. More significant changes have occurred in soybean processing and utilization in the last 20 yr than during the crop's prior history in the USA. Considerable variation can occur in quality levels of soybean, meal, and oil. In the USA, grades for whole soybean are
1. Introduction. Soybean (Glycine max) belongs to the legume family members and provides abundant plant protein and oil in the world today.Soybean proteins (SPs) possess high nutritional value and numerous functional properties such as emulsification, foamability, gelation, and water and oil-holding capacity.
Advances in Aqueous Extraction Processing of Soybeans
Aqueous extraction processing technologies, having advanced in recent years, may be a viable alternative to hexane extraction to separate oil and protein from soybeans. Different extraction strategies incorporating various modes of comminution, extraction buffers, and enzymes allow production of a range of oil and protein products, but also create different processing challenges. Processes
Soybean is an important crop used for oil production. Alterations of the fatty acids, especially increased oleic acid content, can improve the nutritional quality and oxidative stability of soybean oil. During seed development, two genes, encoding FAD2-1A and FAD2-1B, are mainly responsible for the transformation from oleic acid to linoleic acid, and the combination of fad2-1a and fad2-1b is
Recent advances in green soybean oil extraction: A review
According to USDA [1], the production of soybeans worldwide in 2020/2021 was about 360,000 thousand metric tons. The soybean seeds are mainly destined for protein, edible oil, and biodiesel production. The main components of the seeds are proteins (40 wt%), lipids (20 wt%), carbohydrates (15 wt%), and ashes (5 wt%).
Almost three-fourths of global vegetable oil production comes from oil palm, soybean, rape-seed and sunflower, in that order. Soybean oil is widely used in food and in industry in printing ink, lubricants and bio-diesel. Improvement of the oil content and its composition has been a goal in the use of transformation technology.
Advanced Production Technologies of Oilseed Crops
It contains 18 to 22 percent oil and is highly desirable in the diet and has 40 to 42 percent of good-quality protein. Soybean is the most important oil and protein crop throughout the world. Soybean constitutes about 30.3% of the world production of edible oils. Soybean contains 18–22% oil and 40–42% protein.
Advanced automation and intelligent control technologies are adopted to monitor the entire production process, ensuring product consistency and high efficiency of the production line. The oil plants we construct utilize low energy consumption and low waste emission environmental technologies, compliant with international environmental protection standards.
Valorization of soybean oil residue through advanced technology
Soybean oil deodourization distillate (SODD) is a source of tocopherols used to produce vitamin E, in which α-tocopherol is the isomer with higher biological activity and value-added for the food industry.
Soybean oil extraction at the boiling point of p-cymene gave a yield of 31.63 1.50 g/g DM compared to 24.28 1.11 g/g DM for n-hexane. The extraction yield for n-hexane is in line with the
- How is Saneg advancing oil and gas production in Uzbekistan?
