A novel model for multi-plant mixed heavy crude oils refinery planning
Based on the characteristics of heavy crude oil refinery, a novel model for mixed heavy crude refinery and multi-plant planning is proposed ( Fig. 2 ). Detailed steps of model procedure are given as follows: (1). The relationship of each refinery between total yield and mixing ratio is determined by plant and simulated data.
Direct crude-to-chemicals production could yield output of nearly 100 percent chemicals. The price of these approaches rises with the level of yield shift. Individual unit modifications cost $50 million to $100 million. Full-refinery reconfigurations can cost multiple billions of dollars.
A Novel Model for Multi-plant Mixed Heavy Crude Oils Refinery Planning
Abstract. In this paper, multi-refinery using the same heavy crude oils as raw materials is studied, while a new nonlinear model for mixed heavy crude distillation is proposed. In practical crude
The proposed multi-period optimization model for refinery planning with crude oil scheduling maximizes the net profit of refinery production. We use continuous-time representation for the crude oil scheduling and discrete-time representation for the refinery planning problem. The properties of material flows are controlled with property balance

The first part (section “Refinery Operation Planning”) deals with the planning of a refinery’s operation, which includes its optimized crude runs, product slate, and any process expansion or debottlenecking that may be required to meet this optimized operation. The second part (sections “Process Evaluation and Economic Analysis
Here we show the global refining carbon intensity at country level and crude level are 13.9–62.1 kg of CO 2 -equivalent (CO 2 e) per barrel and 10.1–72.1 kgCO 2 e per barrel, respectively
Introduction to Crude Oil and Petroleum Processing
Abstract. This introduction to crude oil and petroleum processing provides a working knowledge of crude oil properties and refining to make the large array of petroleum-based products we enjoy today. Topics include the composition of crude oil, the crude assay, product properties, and the basic processes used to convert crude to useful products
In contrast to Case 1, the TPO refining unit in Case 2 is completely independent, so that oil products can be concentrated for large-scale upgrading or mixed with crude oil. The annual treatment capacity can reach 400 thousand tons, and the scale coefficient can be reduced to 1.17, significantly reducing the upgrading cost, which reaches 675.4 CNY/t–WTs.
- Can waste tyres be used as alternative fuel for internal combustion engines?
- The liquid fuel derived by the pyrolysis process of waste tyres has been tested as an alternative fuel for internal combustion engines , . The current work focuses to present a constructive review about the pyrolysis process, influencing parameters of pyrolysis process and utilization of tyre pyrolysis oil (TPO).
- Can pyrolytic tire oil be used as a source of energy?
- Therefore, the desulfurization of pyrolytic tire oil is an important part of the oil production process prior to its use. The objective of this article is to review the methods used for desulfurization of waste tire pyrolysis oils and the possibility of using scrap tires as a source of energy.
- Can waste tires produce pyrolysis fuel?
- The rubber portion of waste tires has high potential to produce pyrolysis fuels that can be used for energy production or further upgraded for use as blend fuel with diesel. In the preset work, waste tire oil (WTO) was produced from the pyrolysis of waste tires in an electric heating furnace at 500¨C550 °C in the absence of oxygen.
- Which reactor is used in pyrolysis of waste tyres?
- There are several types of reactors which are used in the pyrolysis of waste tyres such as fixed bed (batch), screw kiln, rotary kiln, fluidized and vacuum-bed , , , , , , , . The effect of different reactors on liquid product yield of pyrolysis of waste tyres are mentioned in Table 1.
