Shea Butter Almond Oil Body Butter Recipe for Gorgeous Skin
This shea butter body butter recipe uses only 2 main ingredients: shea butter and sweet almond oil! Sweet almond oil is one of the best oils to mix with shea butter because of its light and easily absorbable consistency. It’s not like the heavier oils such as coconut oil or olive oil that can rather leave a slight greasy coat on the skin/hair.
Cold pressed oils are often packaged in dark glass bottles to protect them from light and heat, which can degrade the oil. This type of packaging is more expensive than plastic containers but ensures that the oil remains fresh and of high quality. In conclusion, the higher price of cold pressed oil can be attributed to several factors.
African Shea Butter: The Ultimate Guide to Nature's Skincare
Wrap your hair in a warm towel air mask: Combine 1/4 cup shea butter, 2 tablespoons coconut oil, and 1 tablespoon honey in a bowl. Apply the mixture to damp hair, focusing on the ends. Wrap your hair in a warm towel and leave the mask on for 30-45 minutes. Rinse with a gentle shampoo and follow with a conditioner.
The shea butter and almond oil mix is so luxurious and creates a creamy blend for smooth skin and healthy locks. As I already said, almond oil has a thin consistency so it doesn’t combine with the shea butter to form a heavy moisturizer – but a silky one.
How To Make Whipped Shea Butter and Coconut Oil Body Butter
I just made this. I used 75/25 ratio. 3/4 cup minus 1 Tbsp Coconut oil & 3/4 cup Shea butter & 1 Tbsp Coconut butter to make 1 1/2 cup (solid ingredients). I used 1/3 cup mixture of Almond oil, Avocado oil and small amount of Olive oil (liquid ingredients). 20-30 drops of both lavender & peppermint oil. I followed the recipe.
Mash shea butter using a fork. Add the base oil; argan oil, or coconut oil, and mash it a little bit more. Mix with the electric mixer for about 10 minutes until it becomes fluffy. Add essential oil. Fill your whipped shea butter in a jar. Serving size: 8 oz.
Whipped Shea Body Butter Recipe
I tried unrefined Shea butter with almond oil, and essential oil, but there was no scent other than the Shea butter. I then tried a separate batch with Shea butter, grapeseed oil, and a fragrance oil, and found the same thing. Both times I used 6 ounces of Shea butter, 4 ounces of the carrier oil, and 40 drops of the essential oil or fragrance oil.
Instructions. In a double boiler, melt shea butter and cocoa butter. Stir in almond oil and coconut oil. Stir until the coconut oil has melted. Remove from heat. Stir in fragrance (I use 15-20 drops of each. Use more or less depending on how mild or strong you want your fragrance.)
How To Make Your Own Natural Shea Butter & Almond Oil
Directions: Double boil roughly half a cup of shea butter by placing it in a bowl placed in a saucepan of boiling water on your stove until it has melted into a liquid. Add two tablespoons of almond oil, then take off the heat and put in the fridge for about 20 minutes or until it starts to harden. Take out of the fridge and whisk using a fork
Instructions. Combine shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, and sweet almond oil in a double boiler or in a nonreactive bowl placed over a pot of water. Heat the pot on medium to slowly melt ingredients. Remove from heat and freeze for 1 hour, until the body butter is firm but not completely solidified.
